LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Los Angeles Police Department detectives are asking the public to provide information that will lead to the identification of the suspect involved in a hit-and-run crash that left a 30-year-old motorcyclist dead.
On Thursday around 4:50 p.m, a vehicle traveling north on Harvard Boulevard pulled in front of a motorcyclist traveling east on Florence Avenue. That action caused the motorcyclist to lose control of his motorcycle and crash. Witnesses said the driver stopped briefly, but then left without identifying himself or rendering aid to the victim, as required by law, police said.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded and pronounced the victim dead at scene.
The suspect is described as a black male in his late 40’s to early 50’s. The vehicle is described as a silver or white Jeep Liberty with a partial plate of “6TJ.”
The identity of the motorcyclist is being withheld until his next of kin is notified.
